The Rising Sun Inn has been a farmhouse, an Inn and Tavern, a Stagecoach stop, and an important meeting place on the crossroads of American History. Located in central Anne Arundel County, Maryland, on the famed Washington Rochambeau Revolutionary Route, the Rising Sun Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Whether you are retracing the steps of American patriots, a family ancestry fan, a teacher with a history lesson in the making, a lover of ghost stories, or a student of 18th and 19th century Americana, we are worth a visit.
The Rising Sun Inn is open for visits on the Second Sunday from March to November, between 1 and 4 p.m., enabling you to explore your interests with us.
Our docents are eager to share their knowledge with you about our Inn and her history and our resident ghosts, Randolph and Abigail, may even leave a cookie or two out for you.
Museum Guest fees: $8.00 per person Children 3 - 12 yrs, $5.00 Please, do come in!
As we prepare to open for our 2021 season, we, like so many others, are excited to see the end is in sight for the Covid-19 pandemic with vaccinations now happening, but we're not there yet. So, our Covid-19 Safety Plan remains in effect to ensure the health, safety and well-being of both our guests and our volunteers.
We respectfully ask for everyone’s support in following the safety guidelines.
