18th century taverns were more than just a place to stop for a pint or a bite to eat.  Taverns were important community centers.  The Rising Sun Inn, as an 18th century tavern, was a stagecoach stop, post office, public meeting site, even a tax collector stop.  Today, the Inn still serves the community as a place for public and private gatherings.
