Tea & Tour at the Inn

Welcome to the Inn!

~ Celebrate Life's occasions with a Tea & a Tour at the Rising Sun Inn ~

“Thank God for tea! What would the world do without tea? ~ how did it exist? I am glad I was not born before tea.”
Sydney Smith (1771-1845)

The Rising Sun Inn offers the opportunity for a lovely respite; time to gather together a small group of family or friends and break from the busy, hustle-bustle of life with a private tea party!  Groups from 8-12 participants are welcome to reserve the Rising Sun Inn for a private, intimate gathering.  Take the opportunity to slow down, step back in time, and enjoy a cup of tea.

Tea time took place in colonial America and was held dear because of the high import costs of tea, coffee and chocolate.  The Rising Sun Inn has a collection of colonial tea serving pieces, as well as a traditional tea caddy, which was kept locked by the lady of the house.  Learn about this and more on a lovely guided tour following your tea!

Our Tea and Tour Program is a private event and for groups with 8 – 12 participants.  Participants can either enjoy an Elevenses or an Afternoon Tea.  Elevenses?  What's that, you ask.  Elevenses are a more casual, lighter affair with tea and sweets, while Afternoon Teas include finger sandwiches in addition to tea and sweets.  After enjoying tea time, guests will tour the Rising Sun Inn learning about its history and its role in Anne Arundel County History.

Program Cost:
Elevenses - $29.00 per person per group

Afternoon Tea - $37.00 per person per group
Vegetarian only option – $35.00 per person per group

Menu Options:
Afternoon Tea ~

Ham and Cheddar, Cucumber and Herbed Cream Cheese, and Chicken Salad.

Vegetarian Menu ~ Chick Pea Salad, Cucumber and Herbed Cream Cheese, and Tomato and Cheddar.

Like the Elevenses, Afternoon Teas also include assorted sweets and teas.

Other Notes:  Program will last approximately 2.5 hours, is geared to adults and is ordinarily scheduled on
Saturdays between 11:00am and 2:00 pm (other days or times may be available an individual basis).
Menu Options cannot be mixed within group (i.e., Afternoon, Vegetarian).
