As both a public and private space during the course of its history, the Rising Sun Inn has been a part of Anne Arundel County history since the 18th century.
We want to welcome you and thank you for sharing your time with us. We love sharing the history and stories of the Inn with all our visitors as well as our plans for the future of this very special place.
See you soon!
To help you plan your visit with us, we offer the following:
The Rising Sun Inn's address is 1090 Generals Highway, Crownsville, MD, 21032 (9 miles northwest of Annapolis).
The museum is open for public ticketed events, private tours and activities, and private rentals year round. Please see the Public Events page as well as the Private Tours, Tea and Tour, and Inn Rental pages.
We are a museum, with original period pieces. We expect all our guests, big and small, to help us protect these treasures for future generations.
Thanks to a Public Safety grant awarded by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, the Rising Sun Inn and property are protected with increased exterior lighting and 24-hour video surveillance.
Our Parking lot is to the right hand side of the entrance drive. To minimize environmental impact, the parking area is unpaved with recycled concrete for the surface.
Please take care to keep our paved driveway open and clear at all times for safety purposes.
The Inn itself is not handicapped accessible, wooden steps must be used to enter and exit the building. However, some public events as well as private rentals are held in our fully-accessible Carriage House.
